South Peru Vivencia of 24 Days
Day Program
Day 1: Free day in Lima. A part of the midday can be used
for those who love water, to float & enjoy a class of Waterdance
in a beautiful pool in Pueblo Libre. Accommodation in a
colonial house in the barrio of San Miguel.
Day 2: Transfer in the morning from Lima to our hotel in
Pisco. In the midday, we make a walk along the impressive
cliffs & coast of the desert of Paracas peninsula.
Day 3: Excursion in the early morning by boat to the Ballestas
Islands to visit the large populations of seabirds, penguins
and sea lions. After the boat excursion we continue to Paracas
peninsula where we make another walk along the cliffs and
may take a dive in the sea.
Day 4: Transfer from Pisco to Nasca. In Ica we walk (or
go by 4-wheel drive) into the immense sand dunes to connect.
Afterwards we have lunch near the dunes of Ica. In the afternoon,
we arrive on the plains of Nazca and have our first view
& meeting of the Nazca lines.
Day 5: Flight (optional excursion) over the Nazca lines
in the morning or middaydepending on weather conditions.
Before or after the flight we will have an excursion around
Nazca to a viewpoint of some of the geometrical figures,
we will visit the intriguing pre-Columbian water canals,
make a walk through the valley, and we visit a Nazca pottery
& gold extraction factory.
Day 6: Transfer along the desert coast & cliffs until lunch.
After lunch we start climbing from the arid coast to the
sierras of Arequipa in the Andes. We make several stops
in the middle of the desert to connect to nature.
Day 7: Free day to visit the colonial city of Arequipa,
to just to take a break in the beautiful garden of the hotel,
to share a Yoga class and enjoy life on one of the most
beautiful Plazas de las Armas of Latin America.
Day 8: Transfer from Arequipa to Chivay with our own bus.
We will have spectacular views on snow-white topped volcanoes,
cross a pass of 4700 m altitude & feel the silent message
of this Indian sanctuary.
Day 9: Today we have a relaxed daywalk through the landscape
& walk from an authentic Indian village through an unknown
part of the Colca canyon. We can take a long break near
beautiful carved rock formations and take a swim in the
river where thermal water is surfacing. After the walk of
about 5-6 hours including breaks, we return to our accommodation
in Chivay.
Day 10: Visit to Cruz del Condor in the early morning. When
the condors have reached higher altitudes we start with
our daywalk of 5-6 hours to Cabanaconde, a lively Indian
village near the Colca canyon. We will have a picknick with
superb views, on the edge of the Colca canyon. We stay for
2 nights in the village of Cabanaconde.
Day 11: This day we make a relaxed roundwalk of a few hours,
including breaks, on a high altitude pampa (4000 m) with
a serene ambiance. A good place to connect with different
dimensions in ourselves.
Day 12: We drive from Cabanaconde in the direction of Chivay
and pass the Cruz del Condor again. From here we continue
with our own bus, descend on the market of a small village
and from there we make an easy daywalk across the Colca
canyon to the other side, and continue from there to Chivay.
Day 13: Today we travel from Chivay to Puno. By now we are
well acclimatized and stop near the highest pass of nearly
5000 meters for a small walk in the immense landscape to
feel the fresh air & pure energy of the high volcanoes.
In the midday we arrive in Puno (around 4000 m high) from
where we will make the next days a unique 2-day excursion
on the Titicaca lake.
Day 14 - 15: We start with a boat trip to Taquile island
and go onshore on a not often visited part of the island.
From here we walk along the island to a small community
where we have lunch and can see some home made weaving.
From here we walk to the harbor village from where we take
off to the island Amantani. We will be received by several
members of Amantani families who bring us to several guesthouses.
In the late midday we walk to the top of the island and
visit the temple of Pacha Mama from where we can have a
superb view of the Titicaca lake and surroundings. The next
day we walk to the other side of the island on a pre-Inca
path. After our walk we have a picknick near the lake. From
here we are picked up by our boat again, to visit in the
late afternoon the Uros floating islands.
Day 16: A traveling day from Puno to Cusco with our own
local bus. We will make several cultural excursions along
the way. We may visit the tombs of Sillustani, visit a local
hacienda and the Inca temple of Viracocha. In the late afternoon
we arrive in Cusco and settle down in our hotel in the colonial
quarter of San Blas.
Day 17: Free day in the ambient Cusco to immerse in city
& cultural life, to walk and visit the valleys, Inca ruins,
local markets and villages in the surroundings ofCusco or
to prepare yourself for the Inca trail.
Option 1: Day 18 - 21
Early morning departure of those who love to walk the Inca
trail to Machu Picchu in 4 days. You arrive at Sun gate
in Machu Picchu at day 21.
Option 2: Day 18 & 19
Two days in Cusco for free time and/or excursions.
Day 20: You go by train to Aguas Calientes where we may
visit the tropical botanical garden and take a dive in the
waterfall or we may visit the local thermal springs.
Day 21: In the early morning on day 21, we go to Machu Picchu
to enjoy the spectacular sunrise over the ruins and connect
to the energy before it becomes crowded. We meet the people
of the Inca trail & we will have a guided cultural tour
after which there will be time left for walking around or
connecting to the energy of the surrounding mountains. In
the midday we lunch all together in Aguas Calientes, and
travel by train to Ollantaytambo where we will settle in
our accommodation.
Day 22: Free day in Ollantaytambo for excursions, souvenir
shopping, immersing & healing arts. Ollantaytambo is one
of the most beautiful villages of Peru, integrating the
former watercanals & street plan of Inca civilization.
Day 23: Transfer to Cusco and free midday to immerse in
the citylife. Sharing in afternoon in Sacsayhuaman.
Day 24: Flight to Cusco or extension Rainforest
Early morning flight from Cusco to Lima to connect to corresponding
international flights in the evening. A part of the early
midday can be used for those who love water, to float &
enjoy a class of Waterdance before stepping in the plane.
Departure by plane or by bus for those who have chosen for
a rainforest extension from Cusco to the National park of
Manu or the reservate of Tambopata.
