The Galapagos Islands are a very fragile and unique ecosystem. The tourism in this area is at one hand a threat to the environment & wildlife of the islands, if not managed well and on the other hand brings in the so necessary funding for wildlife conservation.

By supporting responsible tourism in this sensitive area we are actively contributing to the massive conservation task. There is a National Park tax of USD 100 per person which goes directly to the islands conservation initiatives. We work with a number of cruise boats that are Ecuadorian owned, whose owners can demonstrate a positive ecological and social responsibility policy, which encompasses the broader issues of the human population on the islands as well as the more obvious wildlife conservation. Small, environmentally friendly vessels are used with a maximum of 16 berths, offering an intimate and enjoyable experience being together. Waste management is closely controlled on the boats and, when on land, physical contact with the wildlife is strictly forbidden. And on the excursions, despite taking only 16 passengers they employ a crew of 7-9 persons, including a fully qualified, local naturalist guide.
