Unique horseback trekkings in desolate landscapes of NW Argentina, on foot or on horseback guided by Gauchos, from €525 (3 days) - €1125 (10 days) per person with a minimum of 2 persons. ARGENTINEAN NORTH-WEST FLY & DRIVE

Day 1: Transfer from hotel to Aeroparque (domestic airport) for the flight to Salta City. Arrival to Salta & transfer to hotel. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the city, and in the evening for a folkloric peña with the locals. Overnight at Almerias hotel in Salta or similar accommodation in the city.
Day 2: Pick up rental car with 200 kms free per day. Drive south through the National Route nº 68 untill you get to Las Conchas Canyon. On your way you will enjoy amazing landscapes & some geological highlights of the Salta area. Arrival to Cafayate. In this village you may visit a few wine bodegas like Vasija Secreta & Etchart. Overnight at Viñas de Cafayate Wine Resort in Cafayate area or similar accommodation (www.cafayatewineresort.com).
Day 3: This day you will have the opportunity to drive along the longest national Road of Argentin, the route Nº 40, mainly unpaved road. You will pass through different charming towns such us Animaná, San Carlos & Angastaco. Between Cafayate & Angastaco you can admire the beauty of the Quebrada de Las Flechas; beautiful arrow shaped mountains in a desert like landscape. When you reach Angastaco you take a secondary road that takes you to Colome. You will drive aprox 40 kms after which you reach to the Estancia. Overnight at Colome Estancia (www.estanciacolome.com).
Day 4: Free day at Estancia Colome to enjoy the differents activities that are included. Overnight at Colome Estancia.
Day 5: Early departure from Colome to Cachi, you will drive aprox 65 kms of unpaved road. The first town you will pass is Molinos, famous for its colonial church & then after 40 you reach Seclantás. In this town you can visit in a small place called Colte, local wool workers, and see in which way they still make the traditional “ponchos Salteños”. Arrival to Cachi town, one of the most beautiful colonial villages of Argentina. Free late afternoon to enjoy the church & the museum. Overnight at El Cortijo hotel or similar accommodation (www.elcortijohotel.com).
Day 6: In this day you will drive from Cachi to Chicoana passing the many curves of road at Cuesta del Obispo. From Cachi to Payogasta you drive by the Road Nº 40, from here you turn to the east on the road Nº 33. In the way you will pass by the Mill Stone (spectacular view point at 3468 m.a.s.l). After 3-4 hours you will reach a small town Called Chicoana. Arrival to Los Los Estancia. Overnight at Los Los Estancia, or similar estancia in the Salta Area.
Day 7: Free day at Estancia Los Los. Overnight at Los Los Estancia or similar accommodation in the area.
Day 8: Drive from Estancia Los Los to El Golgota Andean estancia. From el Carril you take the National Road Nº 68 until you get to La Silleta & from this point you'll drive 80 kms into the beautiful Toro canyon till you get to the estancia of El Golgota ( 25 kms aprox. of unpaved road). Overnight at Estancia El Golgota.
Day 9: Day at leisure in the Estancia or time for a horseback trek of a full day to the Inca throne. Overnight at Estancia El Golgota.
Day 10: This day you will drive by the National road Nº 51 to San Antonio de los Cobres (110 kms). After lunch in this typical miners village, you will drive along the Nº 40 over the desolated Altiplano, until you get to one of the biggest salt lakes of Argentina, Salinas Grandes. After having visited the salt plains you drive along the road nº52 till you get to the ambient village & coloured hills of Purmamarca. Day 11: Free day in the area of Purmamarca, Tilcara & Humahuaca´s gorge. A few ideas. In Purmamarca you can visit the handicraft Market that is placed in the main square. Also you can make a small walk along a small circuit called Los Colorados placed in the heart of the famous Seven Colors Hill. In Tilcara you have a handicraft market, and several handicraft workers. You can visit the Pucara of Tilcara, which is an ancient indigenous village & fortress, as well as several museums. In the little town of Uquia you have one of the most beautiful churches of the Northwest. You can visit Huamahuaca, walk around the village, taste the ambiance & lunch in a nice local restaurant to try the best regional dishes like locros or empanadas, accompanied by Andean music. Overnight at Manantial del Silencio hotel or similar accommodation in Purmamarca.
Day 12: Transfer to Salta or Jujuy domestic airport. Drop off the rental car on domestic airport. Flight to Buenos Aires. Transfer in to luxury Art hotel in quarter Palermo (www.arthotel.com.ar).

DAY 1: Arrival to Tucuman, pick up the car & day at leisure for visiting the city & valley region of Siambón & Raco. Overnight in Tucumán Center Hotel or Garden Park or similar in Tucumán City.
DAY 2: On our 2nd day we´ll drive north to Tafi del Valle passing by Los Sosa Gorge. Arrival at Tafi del Valle. Overnight in El Castillo de Piedra Hotel (3*) or Lunahuana or similar in Tafi del Valle.
DAY 3: After breakfast we will drive further north. Arrival to Quilmes, time for visiting the largest pre-hispanic settlement of Argentina. Arrival to Cafayate. Overnight in Killa Huasi Hostal (3*) or La Casa de la Bodega or similar in Cafayate.
DAY 4: After breakfast you will drive by the 68 road to enjoy the beauty of Las Conchas Gorges (this place is ideal to make short trekkings or just for enjoying the landscape).Arrival to Salta. Overnight in La Candela/El Virrey Hotel (4*) or similar in Salta City.

DAY 6: This day we will visit the Humahuaca´s Gorge passing by Purmamarca, Tilcara with its Pucara (Indigenous fortress), Humahuaca & Uquia. Return to Tilcara. Overnight in Rincon de Fuego (4*)or Posada de Luz or similar in Tilcara.

DAY 5: You will drive for 2 days visiting the Toro´s Gorge following the same circuit as the Train of the Clouds. Arrival to San Antonio de los Cobres.Time for lunch. After lunch drive up north over the Altiplano to the most famous Salt Lakes of Argentina. Further driving east by the Lipan Slope you will get to Purmamarca and its famous coloured hills.
